The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) combined index advanced by one-quarter of a per cent on Tuesday with twice as many stocks gaining than declining.
The index closed up 1,186 points or 0.24 per cent to close at 499,767 points. The JSE Index advanced by 1,369 points or 0.27 per cent to close at 505,051 points.
The Junior Market Index declined by 6.49 points or 0.20 per cent to close at 3,256 points.
The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 4.46 points ( 1.87 per cent) to close at 233.94.
The JSE Financial Index advanced by 0.86 points ( 0.63 per cent) to close at 137.19.
The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index declined by 0.42 points ( 0.43 per cent) to close at 97.18.
Market volume amounted to 29,293,095 units valued at over $84.1 million.
Sagicor Select Financial was the volume leader with 16,933,195 units (57.81per cent) followed by Wigton Windfarm with 4,120,646 units (14.07per cent) and Sagicor Select Manufacturing & Distribution with 1,866,191 units (6.37per cent) .
