Digicel has advised that it is experiencing some network issues due to torrential rain and high winds across Antigua, as a result of the passing of Maria, swiftly on the heels of Hurricane Irma.
These issues are said to be confined to some sections of the country.
“Digicel’s technical team is working tirelessly on the issues and hope to have them resolved in the shortest time possible,” the company said in a statement.
It added that while service is available in most areas, Digicel will continue to monitor the overall network performance at all times.
“Digicel would also further urge everyone to again review their hurricane preparedness plan, as we are still in the midst of the Hurricane season. Digicel will also continue to partner with the government and other agencies on the relief and recovery efforts that are ongoing for Irma, and now Maria,” the statement said.
